Jaya Kumar, Chairman and Co-founder, has acquired a deep understanding of business coupled with hands-on exposure to all aspects of technology management in a career spanning nearly two decades in well-known high technology companies. Jaya has honed his skills in the entire gamut of product development - architecture through implementation, people management and other aspects of running a business.
Jaya began his career at Wipro Information Technologies where he worked for five years in the Benchmarking and Databases groups. He then moved to Oracle, and was among the first to be a part of Oracle's India Development Center. At Oracle he was responsible for managing all Oracle product lines for platforms handled at the India Development Center. After a successful stint at Oracle, Jaya was invited to co-found Neta Inc, a Valley-based startup. At Neta, as Director, Engineering, Jaya was responsible for architecture through implementation of Neta Smart Solution, a data-mining based Internet personalization solution. He had exposure to all aspects of managing a startup, and was also responsible for running Neta's data center and designing and putting into practice an implementation methodology for Neta Smart Solution. When Neta was sold to Disney's Internet Division, Jaya moved into Walt Disney's Internet Division as Director, Software Engineering. He was responsible for developing leading edge technologies for Disney's verticals and evangelizing technology adoption within the Internet Division. During his tenure at Disney, Jaya successfully managed three technology platforms and a multicultural team. After four years stint as the Chief Delivery Officer of a leading IT services company, Jaya now heads the India operations of a well known US based product company.
Jaya provides the vision and direction to Prayag, as Chairman and Co-founder.
Jaya has a B. Tech in Electronics and Telecommunications from IIT (Bombay) and PGDM from IIM (Bangalore).
Sudha Kumar, CEO and Cofounder has nearly twenty years’ experience in high technology strategy and marketing and management consulting. She started her career at A F Ferguson & Co, one of India's leading management consulting firms. At AFF Co. she has led and managed market studies, designed information systems, BPR engagements and built econometric forecasting models. After a four- year stint at AFF, Sudha joined Infosys Technologies, Bangalore to start the Corporate Planning function.
During her four years in Planning, she worked closely with top management on several strategic initiatives. She has carried out various business modeling exercises and has built comprehensive decision tools for business de-risking and long-term scenario planning. She was also a part of the Infosys ADR team. In the next few years, Sudha transformed the Marketing function at Infosys. She was instrumental in conceptualizing, planning and implementing a global marketing program, with emphasis on brand building. Some of the initiatives launched by her include a systematic market tracking program, a framework for launching new services, a multi-pronged Client Relationship Program, Global Analyst and Media Management Programs, field Marketing Programs, Internal Branding and Brand Metrics programs. In addition, she has anchored the creation and deployment of an intranet based Knowledge Management system for empowering customer-facing employees. She has leveraged IT, as well as the cross-border service delivery model, to dramatically increase the reach and effectiveness of these programs, while optimizing dollar spending.
At Prayag, Sudha is overall responsible for managing client relationships and branding.
Sudha is a gold medalist in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Anna University. She also has a PGDM from IIM (Bangalore).
Jayanthi Badrinath, Senior Principal, has over 12 years’ experience in the IT industry. Jayanthi started her career as a software professional and over eight years, she developed expertise in designing and developing software products to client specifications. She possesses domain expertise in automotive and banking sectors in providing solutions in ERP, Corporate Banking, and SEI CMM space. She also has extensive experience in implementing solutions at client sites in Asia Pacific and North American regions.
Her core competency is in understanding client requirements and developing solutions tailored to improving their efficiency and effectiveness. She has held various titles including project leader, team leader, etc. in various organizations. She started her career at i-flex Solutions (formerly Citicorp Information Technologies Industries Pvt. Ltd.), and worked in the Banking division for about four years. She implemented solutions at Bank PDFCI in Jakarta, Indonesia and was responsible for gathering client requirements, software installation, conversion from proprietary software into i-flex's banking software, training users on product, on-site development and support. She joined Brain North America in 1998 and was actively involved in the development life cycle process including writing specifications, developing system design, writing/testing programs, and supporting beta installations. She was instrumental in standardizing the development of Automotive OEM requirements process by developing in-house tools, repositories and by creating a knowledge base.
As Senior Principal, Jayanthi is responsible for delivery excellence and managing key accounts.
Jayanthi is an electronics and communications engineer from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore and M.B.A from Wayne State University, USA.
Anita Mani, Principal Consultant, has over 12 years of experience in diverse sectors including media, investment banking and IT. Prior to joining Prayag, her last assignment was as a business head of the wireless division of fast growing telecommunications software company, Lifetree Convergence. At Lifetree, Anita was part of the company’s Management team and her previous roles there included Head Operations and Head-Corporate Planning. Prior to joining the IT industry, Anita worked with a Delhi based boutique investment advisory firm, Asia Pacific Capital, that incubated Lifetree. At Asia Pacific Capital, Anita worked with client servicing teams in the telecom, IT and media sectors. Among clients handled was a large Indian publishing group, whom she assisted in JV negotiations with one of the world's largest media houses.
As Principal Consultant, Anita leads key client engagements and drives assignments that call for expertise in telecommunications and new media.
Anita has completed her post graduation in Social Communications Media from Sophia College, Mumbai.
Subramaniam Krishnan, Associate Principal, has over nine years of marketing and business development experience in education, BPO and IT. His last assignment before joining Prayag was as Deputy General Manager - Marketing of a Top 5 BPO, Firstsource Solutions Limited. At Firstsource, Subbu was responsible for Marketing and Brand Management. Prior to Firstsource, Subbu worked with an IT & BPO Services company - Datamatics Limited. At Datamatics, Subbu was responsible for Business Development and Strategy Planning, Brand Management and Marketing. He was also involved in re-engineering of marketing processes at Datamatics and is a Six Sigma champion in the space of New Client Acquisition and Marketing Processes. He specialized in Market Intelligence, New Client Acquisition and Go-To-Market Strategies for Services Marketing.
As Associate Principal, Subbu leads key client engagements and drives assignments that call for expertise in New Client Acquisition space.
Subbu has completed his graduation in Physics and Computer Program Applications from Mumbai University. He did his Diploma in Business Management from Mumbai University.
